(This really has nothing to do with the pregnancy except that I felt hot and sick afterward)
We usually arrive at church right as it starts with no time to spare so we sit in the overflow often. Well, after today I will be arriving 15 min. earlier every Sunday from now on. I promise I've learned my lesson on tardiness.
We had the opening prayer and then a few ward announcements as usual. Then then it was time to open the Hymn books. I grabbed mine from the chair next me a saw a creepy crawly German roach on the seat next it. I reacted quickly and quietly by flipping it on to the floor where it ran under the chairs in front of me and disappeared. I tugged Waylands arm and told him about the roach. He cringed and we went on to singing. Shortly after that I glanced over at the chair again to make sure it was gone and something caught my eye. Two chairs over was a black bag with another roach on it. It belonged to the woman sitting next to it three chairs from me. She was singing away obliviously. I looked closer and saw a smaller roach on the outside of the bag too. I grabbed Waylands arm and told him to look. I watched his eyes focus on the issue at hand and then his face turned to terror! He told me don't look now! (of course we were whispering but more of a panicked whisper) I turned my head toward the demon bag to find more roaches surging from the bag! We're talking 10, 11, 15, 20 roaches swarming onto the chairs and on the woman! Wayland looked away and scooted over but I had no where to go. I was trapped! By now the song ended and the blessing for the Sacrament commenced. I could not close my eyes! those wicked bugs were headed my way. She must have felt one crawl on her because she started flipping them onto the floor. I couldn't look I focused on the metal trays moving throughout the chapel. I could hear her rummaging in the bag trying to squish them and saw her stepping on their hideous skeletal bodies desperately trying to keep them from getting away. As she smashed and flipped and stomped I thought OM Gosh she's got to get that bag out of here AND she's got wash her hands before she takes the Sacrament! Nope, neither happened. She passed the tray to me and I reluctantly took a piece from the outer edge and carefully grabbed the handle farthest from where her hand touched. Then she went back to smashing and squishing up until the Sacrament was over and a crowd of late-comers entered the overflow from the lobby. I sensed her sweating bullets because SHE was now trapped and I'm sure she was utterly embarrassed. That's when she grabbed her bag and left. I couldn't focus on anything that was said the whole meeting since I had to monitor the seats and floor for strays.
Anyway, as I said it's strictly pews for us from now on. Bug-free pews.
You're a real trooper if you've read this far into my blog. I'm sorry I shared this but I needed to get it out.

Half way mark.
Well, close enough. I have gained a little more than 20 lbs already!!! I figure it's ok but only if I keep any additional weight gain down to a pound a week from here on out. That would be great if I could stop binging.
Today's dietary intake (don't tell my doctor):
We had another sonogram last Friday and saw a teeny tiny little girl in there. The diameter of Her head is about 4 1/2 centimeters from front to back. It's hard to believe she could be that small. I've been feeling her tiny punches for over a week but it will be a couple weeks before anyone else can feel them. Our next sonogram will be June 15th and we will be around 23 weeks hopefully, since she will be bigger, we will get a better glimpse. We only got a foot print out of the last session.

Good for nothin' sciatic
Had a doctor's appt. today. Waited for 1 1/2 hours (of course) and my OB grimaced when I asked what can I do about my sciatic pain. I'm having difficulty standing up and climbing stairs. Walking isn't so bad, I only feel a dull pain then. I hope this is a phase cause it hurts real bad. Doc told Wayland to imagine my pelvis as a salad bowl without fat or cushion and there's a watermelon sitting in it. Sitting against bone, muscle, and nerves, getting heavier and heavier. Thanks for the ice pack suggestion and the hope.

and it shows...
Here is an updated belly.
I really haven't gained any weight the last 2 weeks so there isn't much difference except for the ankles which you won't get to see. Sorry.

A good Mother's Day indeed
Hosting a Mother's Day/Birthday Party just 2 weeks after moving seems overwhelming but Wayland helped pull it off. We invited my mom Gabe, her Mom Angie, my Aunt Maria, my sister Shelley and boyfriend Jason, my moms boyfriend Jeff and my uncle's wife Cristy. This doesn't seem like much but throw in two children, Gretchen and Brielle then add myself and Way.... This mix creates a very loud hungry bunch who can't wait to open presents. Today being Brielles Birthday and all, I thought it would be a sinch to get all the Squeteri's in one place. I was right, they all agreed when they heard shrimp kabobs and cake. Brielle made out with a ton of money, I made out with a belly ache and Wayland made out with his life. Wayland said that just a few hours with my moms family will wear you out. Imagine life with the Sopranos minus the swearing, thats the Squeteri's. Even so, Wayland grilled all the kabobs and cleaned up almost everything he's sooo good to me. In addition, my girls gave me awesome gifts and this is how I know I am loved.
Pictured below is a scanned page out of the story Brielle wrote about her mom. It reads:
"You are an amazing mom because you teach me about monitors (computers)."

Pictured below is a poem Gretchen wrote especially for me:

What am I even paying him for?
Went to the doctor yesterday. He sent me to have a very expensive sonogram 2 weeks ago to determine a more exact age of the fetus which is where we decided I was about 2 weeks less pregnant and that makes complete sense. Well he is still refering to my last cycle and says, "well Ms. Joanna, you are at 14.1 weeks and the morning sickness should be gone now so how do you feel?" Uh doc, I still have morning sickness and I'm 12 and 1/2 half weeks. He then proceeds to prep a yellowed-with-age machine that has something on it like cardio or whatever and he lubes up my belly with cold jelly and proceeds to find the baby's heart beat. What's the deal?! We just had this done 2 weeks ago with top notch equipment at Winnepalmer Hospital! Then there was the waaku waaku waaku sound coming out of the plastic cardio-dinosaur and I smiled. That's our baby.

Eleven Weeks Chunky
I have just bought a replacement camera since Kodak didn't want to take responsibility for their defective product. Wayland thinks I did something to the camera but I've just had really bad luck with the last two I've owned. Anyway, this ones a beaute! I have taken my first self portrait with it and realized I have successfully put on a protective layer of fat. I think I'm packing on the pounds too quickly but I can't help it. Eating is the only thing that keeps me from getting sick. Especially Mexican Food and lots of it. Yum.
